Game On for CBS format adaptation

US broadcast network CBS has ordered a local version of UK sports comedy panel show A League of Their Own, executive produced by the original show’s host, James Corden.

Game On! will be hosted by comedian Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), with tennis star Venus Williams and former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski as team captains. Comedian Bobby Lee and writer Ian Karmel are among the comedic panellists.

The format is part comedy and part gameshow, with two teams of three competing against each other in a range physical challenges and sports trivia.

Game On! will be produced by Eye Productions and Corden’s Fulwell 73 Productions alongside Red Arrow Studios-owned CPL Productions, which is also behind A League of Their Own.

The executive producers for Fulwell 73 Productions are Ben Winston, Corden (The Late Late Show) and Emma Conway, with David Taylor, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux serving as executive producers for CPL Productions. Gronkowski, Elle Key, Keegan-Michael Key, Henry Penzi and Williams also exec produce.

A League of Their Own is in its 14th season on Sky1 in the UK, where it has won two Baftas. The format is distributed internationally (except Canada and the US) by Red Arrow Studios International.
