Blindfolded dating show Kiss Bang Love

FYI in the US has greenlit a dating format sold by Germany’s Red Arrow International.

Kiss Bang Love follows individuals as they meet 10 potential partners and choose their favourite based on intimate conversations and kissing each other while blindfolded. Two final matches will go on romantic dates before a final decision is made.

The 10×60′ US version is being produced by Red Arrow’s Kinetic Content, which also produces A&E and FYI show Married at First Sight USA.

The original was created by Snowman Productions in Denmark for TV3 and RedSeven Entertainment for ProSieben in Germany.

Gena McCarthy, exec VP of programming and development at FYI, said the show would “explore whether blind physical chemistry can pre-determine romantic success.”

Henrik Pabst, MD at Red Arrow International, added: “This kind of noisy social experiment is increasingly in demand by broadcasters, and we are delighted that American audiences will be able to experience the show on FYI.”

The format launched at Mipcom earlier this year and has already sold to Seven Network in Australia and TV3 in Denmark, as well as to channels in in Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Finland.
