FX meets A Teacher with Kate Mara

US cablenet FX Networks has ordered a limited series based on Hannah Fidell’s 2013 feature film A Teacher.

A Teacher explores the story behind a female high-school teacher caught having an affair with one of her male students.

The 10-part limited series will be produced by FX Productions and will star Kate Mara (House of Cards, 24) and Nick Robinson (Everything, Everything, Love, Simon) as the lead characters.

Mara is also exec producing alongside Fidell, who will direct and write the series. Also exec producing are Michael Costigan, Jason Bateman and Danny Brocklehurst.

“Hannah Fidell is an exceptional filmmaker we have long admired for her intuitive ability to bring complex stories to life with depth and grace,” said Gina Balian, president of original programming at FX Entertainment.
