Fusion goes job hunting with Big Papi

US cablenet Fusion has ordered a docu-reality series starring former professional baseball player David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz.

Big Papi Needs a Job (10×30′) will follow the former Red Sox star as he embarks upon the post-baseball phase of his life and seeks gainful employment.

The Fusion original series is produced in conjunction with Matador Content and will premiere on January 31 in the US.

Each episode will follow Ortiz as he embraces a new job that piques his interest, from heading back to Fenway Park in Boston as a tour guide, to trying out his skills as a dog groomer, manicurist and musician.

Ortiz is regarded as one of the most successful baseball players ever and holds the all-time record for most hits and home runs by a designated hitter. He retired from the sport in 2016.
