Fulwell73 preps Sir Matt Busby doc

UK indie Fulwell73 is in production on a documentary about celebrated Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby.

The programme, titled Busby, will take a look at the manager’s life and 25-year career at the English football club.

An iconic figure of UK sport, Busby took charge of United in 1945, leading the team to domestic dominance and European glory. Known for his championing of young players, Busby brought through football legends including George Best and Bobby Charlton.

Busby is being directed and produced by Fulwell73 partner Leo Pearlman, with Heather Greenwood featuring as coprodcucer.

It’s the latest sports documentary produced by Fulwell73, following recently announced docuseries Flying High, which focuses on the women’s team at London football club Chelsea; previous Manchester United documentary The Class of 92; Usain Bolt doc I Am Bolt; and Netflix series Sunderland ‘Til I Die.

Busby will be released by Altitude Films in November.
