Fulwell 73 Bros doc screams into US

Anglo-American prodco Fulwell 73 has struck a North American distribution deal for its hit documentary Bros: After the Screaming Stops.

The doc, which charts the rise and fall of teenage global music sensation Bros almost 30 years ago, became a hit for the BBC in the UK when it premiered over Christmas and has now been acquired by US-based Gravitas Ventures.

The film will be released on May 28 in North America via an array of on-demand platforms including iTunes, as well as via selected home entertainment services.

It is produced by UK prodco Fulwell 73, which was behind fellow documentaries including Class of 92 and I am Bolt, and was co-directed by Joe Pearlman and David Soutar, produced by Leo Pearlman and co-produced by Heather Greenwood.

Fulwell’s slate also includes forthcoming show Hitsville: The Story of Motown, which claims to be the first movie documentary about Motown Records that has founder Berry Gordy’s active participation.
