Fugitive bags format trio from Gil

Fugitive, the content development and financing outfit from Anthony Kimble, has picked up a trio of formats from Israel’s Gil Formats for distribution in the UK.

Fugitive has acquired the rights to Good Cop Bad Cop, a comedy gameshow in which celebrities are interrogated by two comedians; primetime family entertainment show Generation Sensation; and This is England, a factual format that sets out to discover what ordinary people really think about the hot topics of the day.

The new deal was struck by Gil Formats founder Assaf Gil and Fugitive exec VP of non-scripted content Merrily Ross, who joined the company last year having earlier departed MTG.

Ross said: “Assaf is somewhat of a legend in the formats world and has a golden touch when it comes to creating and delivering great ideas that are not only brilliantly thought through for producers and broadcasters but also compelling and entertaining for audiences. His latest format ideas continue to tick all those boxes, and I am excited to begin taking them out to UK producers and broadcasters.”
