FTD toons find Euro, Canuck buyers

Ana Pumpkin has joined the France TV Distribution slate

International networks and streamers in Germany, Canada and Spain have acquired animated content from sales house France TV Distribution (FTD).

Spanish pay TV channel Canal Panda and Slovakia’s RTVS have both picked up animated series Super Caribou (48×11/2×22’), produced by Autour du Minuit.

ZDF-owned free-to-air German children’s channel KiKa and pubcaster NDR have also acquired the show, from FTD distribution partner Studio Hamburg.

French-Canadian AVoD service Ici Tou.TV, meanwhile, has bagged the second season of Studio Hari’s The Owl & Co (156×7’) and Vivement Lundi’s Science of Botheration (39×5’), while the third season of Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ Rabbids Invasion (234×7’) went to SVoD service Ici Tou.TV Extra.

In addition, FTD has added new animated series Ana Pumpkin (52×5’) to its slate. The series is produced by Folimage and Les Armateurs and follows the daily adventures of a five-year-old girl and her dog.

“This confirms the quality and creativity of the French indie animation production that has the power to travel around the globe,” said Julia Schulte, FTD’s senior VP of international sales.
