French net gets Australia’s Ace

A French pay TV broadcaster has picked up the Australian animated series Get Ace from Canadian distributor 9 Story Media Group.

Turner Broadcasting-owned Boing in France will air the series, which was recently greenlit for a second season and originally broadcast on Network Ten’s Channel Eleven in Australia.

The 52×11′ toon, from Aussie prodco Galaxy Pop, follows the comic misadventures of a nerdy first-year high-schooler after he is accidentally fitted with some ultra high-tech, experimental braces.

9 Story picked up distribution rights for the series last year, with the show also airing on ABC3 down under. Other broadcasters to have acquired the toon include TVNZ in New Zealand, TVE in Spain, E Junior in the United Arab Emirates and Zoom in Israel.
