FremantleMedia serves food formats

FremantleMedia is bringing culinary-themed talent and competition formats to MipTV later this month, along with an interactive reality format developed with tech firm The Future Group.

The Next TV Chef has been created by the distributor’s Dutch production house Blue Circle and is a search for a chef who can combine gastronomic flair with the ability to hold an audience’s attention.

The Chefs’ Line, meanwhile, sees four home cooks learning professional chefs’ culinary skills and comes from Eureka Productions, the LA-based firm launched by former Endemol Shine Group producers Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin with FremantleMedia last year.

Also on FremantleMedia’s MipTV slate is Lost in Time, which follows three contestants as they are transported into different eras including the Wild West, the Ice Age and the Middle Ages, where they compete in a series of challenges against the clock to win a jackpot.

FremantleMedia and Norway-based The Future Group have developed and produced the first version of the show for TVNorge in Norway.
