Fremantle picks up property format

MIPFORMATS: FremantleMedia has picked up the global rights (outside of North America) to competitive property format Who Lives Here? and is launching it here in Cannes.

The format – from Canadian prodco 3Bird Media – follows five strangers in each episode who tour each other’s homes together and try to work out who lives where. Whoever makes the most correct matches wins a cash prize.

Ten episodes of Who Lives Here? are currently being produced for HGTV Network in the US and W Network in Canada. The series premieres in both territories this month.

“Who Lives Here? is one of those fantastically simple concepts that has massive potential to travel globally. It taps into two universal notions: our desire to see where – and how – other people live, and the preconceptions we make about people on first meeting them,” said Vasha Wallace, senior VP of global acquisitions and development at FremantleMedia.
