Fremantle hires US unscripted head

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has hired veteran reality producer Toby Gorman to head up its unscripted development.

Gorman will join FMNA as exec VP of alternative programming mid-April having developed and produced shows as a freelancer for FremantleMedia for the last seven years.

The producer will be responsible for developing formats for reality competition and gameshows for broadcast and major cable networks, as well as syndication-focused unscripted television programming.

That role was previously held by senior VP of acquisitions and development Jeff Tahler, who left the company last June after six years to head up new LA-based prodco Madica Productions.

Most recently Gorman served as co-executive producer and showrunner on NBC’s Hollywood Game Night and The Winner Is. The Brit has also worked on the likes of All Star Family Fortunes, Grease Is the Word, The Race, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and Hell’s Kitchen in his native UK.

He will report to Thom Beers, chairman and CEO of FremantleMedia North America.
