Fremantle gets Wasted with Zero Point

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste comes from Zero Point Zero

Global distributor FremantleMedia International (FMI) has acquired the rights to environmental feature documentary Wasted! The Story of Food Waste from US prodco Zero Point Zero (ZPZ).

Directed by Emmy-winning filmmakers Nari Kye and Anna Chai, the 1×120’ show uncovers the extent of the food waste crisis and follows those who work to combat it. It is produced by New York-based ZPZ with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.

ZPZ CEO Joe Caterini and chief content officer Lydia Tenaglia produce. They also exec produce alongside Kye, Chai, presenter and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and ZPZ chief production officer Christopher Collins.

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste makes its theatrical debut in the US on October 13. As part of the agreement, FMI will shop the documentary globally, excluding the US.

“ZPZ films has created an incredibly powerful and compelling documentary which is the perfect addition to FremantleMedia International’s range of high-end factual programming. The show has huge international resonance” said Sam Harowitz, VP of acquisitions and coproductions, North America, at FMI.
