Foxtel, TVO dig up Bone Detectives

Tern TV’s The Bone Detectives

International broadcasters including Foxtel in Australia, Viasat History, BBC Worldwide and Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1 have picked up factual shows from UK-based distributor DCD Rights.

Pay TV outfit Foxtel, Swedish educational broadcaster UR and Canada’s TVO and Knowledge have all acquired The Bone Detectives (8×60’), produced by Zinc Media-owned Tern TV in the UK.

The series follows a team of experts as they attempt to piece together the lives behind bones and other remains from battles, accidents or diseases.

Histoire TV in France, Viasat History in Central and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, Prima Group in the Czech Republic and Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand have all acquired historical series Nazi War Machines: Secrets Uncovered (4×60’).

Additionally, 12-part natural history series Wildest Places (12×60’), from Australian prodco WildBear Entertainment, has been picked up by BBC Worldwide for Australasia, RTL Geo in Germany and Discovery Asia Pacific.

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1, Czech Republic’s Prima Group and Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand have also acquired The Black Files Declassified.

Produced by Espiritus Productions and Spark TV, the 6×60’ series looks at the classified US government operations taking place abroad with a total budget of US$90bn.

Meanwhile, Histoire TV, SBS in Australia, Foxtel, TVO and Prima Group have taken historical docuseries The Blitz: Britain On Fire (3×60’), produced by London-based Windfall Films.
