Foxtel commits to crime series

Australia’s Foxtel has picked up more than 250 hours of crime and lifestyle content from UK distributor Cineflix Rights, including season two of docudrama Murder in Paradise.

The 6×60’ series, originally made by Cineflix Productions for Investigation Discovery, looks at cases of holidaymakers’ dream holidays that ended with horrific murders.

Other crime series acquired by Foxtel include Last Seen Alive (6×60’, Cineflix Productions), Obsession: Dark Desires (10×60’, October Films) and season two of Surviving Evil (10×60’, Cineflix Productions).

The broadcaster also picked up seasons one, five and six of Unusual Suspects (39×60’, LMNO Productions) and seasons two and three of Cold Blood (36×60’, Cineflix Productions).

Foxtel also bought shows from Cineflix’s homes and design catalogue such as Property Brothers seasons one, two and four (65×60’, Cineflix Productions) and the first two seasons of Buying & Selling (39×60’, Cineflix Productions).

The deals were brokered by Chris Bluett, VP of sales, Asia-Pacific and Benelux at Cineflix Rights, and Jim Buchan, general manager of factual channels at Foxtel.
