Fox puts Sleepy Hollow to bed

US broadcast network Fox has called time on its supernatural drama Sleepy Hollow after four seasons, but has taken a new Marvel drama to series.

Sleepy Hollow

20th Century Fox Television’s Sleepy Hollow was hit by falling ratings

Sleepy Hollow was produced by 20th Century Fox Television but suffered declining ratings in season four after star Nicole Beharie’s character was killed off in the final episode of season three.

The network has also pulled the plug on police procedural Rosewood, produced by Temple Hill Productions and 20th Century Fox, after two seasons ahead of its Upfront presentations later this month. Baseball drama Pitch was earlier canned after one season.

But there is better news for The Gifted, the latest drama to come from the Marvel comicbook franchise which has been greenlit to be produced by 20th Century Fox and Marvel Television.

The show, created by Matt Nix, focuses on two parents who discover their child has special powers and who go on the run with similar families to escape hostile government agents.
