Fox loads up Berman’s Sidecar team

Fox Entertainment’s new company, Sidecar, has revealed the executive team that will be working under veteran executive and producer Gail Berman.

Hend Baghdady

The fledgling outfit, described as a content development accelerator, has tapped Hend Baghdady as executive VP of development and production, and Jeff Nemon as senior VP of drama development.

Baghdady was previously senior VP of alternative and production for The Jackal Group, the production entity formed by Berman in partnership with Fox Networks Group.

At The Jackal Group, Baghdady developed and executive produced the Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. She previously served as executive producer and the executive in charge of production at Animation Domination High-Def Studios, under the Fox Network Groups umbrella.

Nemon, meanwhile, was VP of TV development at Valhalla Entertainment, where he worked on The Walking Dead franchise, among other shows. Prior to joining Valhalla, Nemon worked at CBS Television Studios and at the management company The Collective, in its TV literary department.

Elsewhere at Sidecar, Alana Romoff has been named as VP of development and Matthew Chadwick has joined as VP of alternative programming and production.

Romoff was also formerly of The Jackal Group, where she oversaw the development and production of the company’s scripted television projects, ranging across cable, broadcast and streaming platforms.

Prior to joining The Jackal Group, Romoff was a development executive at Lionsgate Television.

Chadwick was previously head of production at Animation Domination High-Def Studios. He began his career in London, launching a number of live interactive channels and gameshow formats. Since moving to the US, he has developed and produced content for NBC, MTV and Turner’s Adult Swim.

Under Berman’s leadership, Sidecar will develop scripted and unscripted projects, identifying and incubating programming both for Fox and third-party platforms. Fox Entertainment will retain ownership of all series that originate under the Sidecar banner.

Its business and legal affairs team will consist of Susan Lierle, senior VP, and manager Eduardo Lopez-Mendez. Lierle was previously a business affairs consultant at Twentieth Century Fox Television, while Lopez-Mendez was a contracts administrator at The Jackal Group.
