Fox lights up 5 Stars in Italy

Representatives from Dori and FNG Italy seal the deal in Cannes

MIPCOM: Fox Networks Group (FNG) in Italy has picked up Argentinean romantic comedy series Las Estrellas (aka 5 Stars).

FNG Italy’s deal is the third global sale of the 120-episode show, which is produced and distributed by Israel’s Dori Media in collaboration with Argentinean prodco Pol-Ka Producciones.

The series, which has also aired in Israel and Indonesia, is about five sisters who, after the death of their father, must jointly manage his boutique hotel.

Alessandro Saba, VP of entertainment channels at FNG Italy, said the show’s “themes of love, friendship and family are utterly universal, which has [made] the series so popular.”

Dori’s deal with FNG Italy comes after the firm sold Israeli crime drama Dumb to Polish pay TV platform nc+ yesterday.
