MIPTV: US broadcaster Fox has ordered a new gameshow from Keshet DCP, the joint venture between Israeli distributor Keshet International (KI) and US-based DC Media.

^[1]Boom! was created by Keshet, Ido Rozenblum and July August Productions and requires teams of contestants to answer trivia questions within a strict time limit to defuse mock bombs and win prize money. The show debuted on Keshet Broadcasting’s Channel 2 last week.

The new US version of the format, which has already been sold to France’s TF1, marks the first co-development deal between KI and DC Media under the Keshet DCP banner following its creation in October.

“Boom! is a perfect blend of family entertainment and Fox attitude,” said Simon Andreae, exec VP of alternative entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company.

Allen Shapiro, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, added that the format “represents a continuation of original, provocative and unique content coming out of the Keshet DCP venture.”
