Fox entranced by hypnotism format

Fox in the US has ordered an eight-part adaptation of gameshow format You’re Back in the Room, in which contestants are hypnotised on stage.

The show is being produced by Tuesday’s Child, creator of the original UK show, and is being exec produced by Karen Smith (Dancing With The Stars). BBC Worldwide distributes.

The format sees five strangers take on a series of apparently simple challenges while under hypnosis and originally aired on UK commercial broadcaster ITV.

The US version will air in 2016 and is the latest international remake, following deals in Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, Peru and other countries.

It joins fellow Fox formats MasterChef, MasterChef Junior and American Idol, which is set for its 15th and final season in January.
