Food Network orders more Buddy vs Duff

Discovery-owned US cablenet Food Network has commissioned a second season of the culinary competition series Buddy vs Duff.

The eight-part second run will see bakers Buddy Valastro and Duff Goldman compete to crown themselves as the king of cake.

In its opening season, Buddy vs Duff became the network’s highest rated series of the year and reached more than 14 million viewers.

Production for the second season begins this week, with the series expected to return in March 2020.

Courtney White, president of Food Network, said: “Audiences were captivated by the real-life rivalry between Buddy and Duff, the extraordinary intensity of the competition and the exquisite works of art created by these two titans of baking. As the biggest names in cake, they have a lot at stake in the competition and will lay it all on the line to prove they are the best in the business.”
