Flynn joined the production outfit as a creative intern in 1999 and rose to oversee creativity across the UK group, taking the role of chief creative officer in June 2013.

His credits include creating and executive producing The Million Pound Drop (The Money Drop), Pointless, The Bank Job and Seven Days on the Breadline, as well as quizshow Ejector Seat.

Flynn said his decision to leave was a “difficult one,” adding that he would “miss the whole team.”

“In my time at Endemol, I’ve seen the company transform into one of the largest independent producers in the UK and I’m proud to have been part of that journey,” Flynn said.

“It’s been a fantastically creative and supportive environment where I’ve been able to take big risks and make television that’s travelled the world.

“Overseeing creativity for the UK group allowed me to work with outstanding production companies across so many genres and comprising some of the UK’s best creatives and producers.”

Flynn’s departure comes just months after Endemol’s merger with Shine, and he becomes the latest senior exec to leave following Shine chief exec Alex Mahon and chief operating officer Tim Robinson.

After joining Endemol in 1999, Flynn became MD of Brighter Pictures in 2007, before becoming joint MD of Remarkable Television in 2009. Taking the role of chief creative officer in 2013, he co-chaired Endemol UK’s digital board and represented Endemol UK at global creative team level.
