Flame anoints Scrap Kings, Lion Queen

The Lion Queen focuses on Andi Rive

Scrap Kings and The Lion Queen are among the 200 hours of factual, lifestyle and documentary series to have been picked up by Australian outfit Flame Distribution.

Scrap Kings (8×60’), produced by UK-based indie back2back, follows demolition, salvage and waste-management experts as they smash through structures that have served their time.

The Lion Queen, from Kiwi setup Top Shelf Productions, observes conservationist Andi Rive as she relocates her lion sanctuary to South Africa.

These series are joined by Fusion Media-produced science show Real Future, which looks at developing tech that will influence the future; motorbike series Bike World, from the Bike Channel; and BBC Studios’ A Stitch in Time, which looks at the history of clothes worn by notable figures from the past.

Elsewhere, documentaries on Flame’s slate include The Dinosaur Echo (Brandy Y Productions), which explores the surge in popularity of palaeontology, Moondance Films’ child abuse exposé Dark Secret, politics-focused War/Peace (Greenlit Productions), Frank Lloyd Wright: The Man Who Built America (Wildflame Productions), The Surgeon & The Soldier (Serendipity Productions) and Data Mining the Deceased (Past Productions).

These shows are joined by returning series such as Prospero Productions’ Railroad Australia and new six-part travel documentary Grand Tours of Scotland Lochs from Gadabout Films.
