FilmRise enters Electric partnership

MIPTV: US distributor and digital network provider FilmRise has agreed an international content partnership with fellow production and distribution company Electric Entertainment.

The agreement sees Electric Entertainment take over international distribution of all FilmRise’s new acquisitions and library titles, including its new feature catalogue.

This includes recently acquired titles such as movie Change in the Air, starring Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs Maisel), and feature doc Wildland.

FilmRise owns a library of more than 15,000 titles, spanning movies and TV series. It features classic shows such as Roseanne, 3rd Rock From the Sun and unscripted series Unsolved Mysteries.

Meanwhile, a separate deal with the US’s Sinclair Broadcast Group sees the digital FilmRise Streaming Network join Sinclair’s new AVoD streaming platform, STIRR, which launched in January.

The carriage deal will make FilmRise content available in several ways, including on STIRR’S Channel 1 local news platform between live news segments, as well as on-demand via a dedicated FilmRise-branded hub and within genre sections on the OTT platform.

STIRR is available on iOS and Android devices, Amazon’s FireTV, Apple TV, Roku and via its own website.

Sinclair is one of the US’s largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies. It owns and operates or provides services to 191 television stations in 89 markets across the country.
