FIC’s Salini joins Stand by Me

Italian production outfit Stand by Me has appointed the former MD of Fox International Channels (FIC) in Italy as its chief operating officer.

Fabrizio Salini has joined the firm having most recently been head of Italian channel La7, which he left in June 2017.

The exec was VP of entertainment channels at FIC, now known as Fox Networks Group, in Italy between 2003 and 2011 but left to join Sky Italia before moving to channels group Switchover Media.

He was named VP of content for Discovery Communications Italia after Switchover Media was acquired by Discovery Communications. He rejoined FIC Italy as MD in 2014 and left at the end of 2015.

Stand by Me was founded in 2010 by Simona Ercolani and is co-owned with Francesco Nespega, the founder of Italian TV channels group Switchover Media.

The independent prodco produces shows such as High Infidelity, I Ragazzi del Bambino Gesù, Italiani a Tavola, Chasing Paper as well as the Italian version of Gogglebox.
