Family Food Fight set for European first

The Australian version of Family Food Fight airs on Network Nine

A Portuguese broadcaster is set to become the first European operator to air a local version of Endemol Shine Group’s culinary format Family Food Fight.

RTP will start airing its 13×90′ version of the show, Famílias Frente a Frente, this month, with Shine Iberia producing.

The format was created by Endemol Shine Australia and debuted on Nine Network down under, where a second run has already aired. It follows families as they cook their own recipes to impress judges and win a cash prize.

ABC in the US has already ordered a local version of Family Food Fight, with Endemol Shine North America producing, while in Argentina, Endemol Shine Latino’s series has just finished airing on Telefe.

Hélder Marques, executive producer for the Portuguese version, described the format as “a diverse, multigenerational and celebratory format – everything that Portuguese cooking sets out to be. We are excited to be the first European territory airing the series and we believe it will resonate strongly with our viewers.”
