Eyeworks Scandi chief departs

The CEO of the Scandinavian arm of Eyeworks is leaving the international production company after five years in the role.

Tobias Bringholm

Tobias Bringholm has overseen the expansion of Eyeworks from an initial Scandi presence in Sweden with the addition of prodcos in Denmark and Norway.

According to Eyeworks, its operations in the region have grown from a worth of €14m (US$18m) in 2007 to €51m in 2012.

Eyeworks will not be appointing a replacement and instead the respective heads of the prodcos in Sweden, Denmark and Norway will each report directly to Eyeworks HQ in Amsterdam.

Reinout Oerlemans, CEO and founder of Eyeworks: said: “Tobias is an entrepreneur and I understand it is time he moves on to his next challenge.”

Bringholm added: “The targets and goals we sought to accomplish are all achieved, and now I feel a need to move on to develop and to start new companies, or work with TV in the convergence and disruptive new marketplace. The group in Scandinavia is very strong and does not need me anymore.”

Bringholm was the founder of Scandinavian prodco Metronome and was its chief creative officer for 15 years before going on to become head of programming at TV4 in Sweden in 2005. Three years later he was appointed CEO of Eyeworks in Scandinavia.
