UYoung has acquired the content and merchandising rights to seasons one and two of Messy Goes to Okido in China and has also made an equity investment in the property, which will see the firm receive a share of the show’s international revenues.

Genevieve Dexter, CEO of Eye Present, said: “The content rights were held by DHX while the merchandising rights were held by Eye Present, representing its sister company Doodle Productions, the SPV [special purpose vehicle] which owns the underlying rights to the property. We have spent some time aligning those rights to facilitate this deal and are very pleased to have concluded these intricate negotiations.”

Animated science series Messy Goes to Okido was recently commissioned for a third season by CBeebies, the preschool network of UK pubcaster the BBC.
