Exec rejig, AMC deal for eOne

Entertainment One (eOne) Films is reorganising its broadcast and digital divisions in Canada, while eOne Television has agreed an exclusive distribution deal with AMC.

The executive rejig has been sparked by the departure of senior VP Naveen Prasad. Audrey Gardiner and Dan Loewy have been promoted and will jointly oversee the division as VPs.

Prasad had been overseeing all aspect of the film group’s television and digital activities having held the same role at Alliance Films prior to its acquisition by eOne in January. He joined Alliance in 2000, holding various roles in both theatrical and television distribution.

Gardiner and Loewy also joined eOne following the Alliance deal. Gardiner will now handle all licensing activities to both linear and digital accounts while Loewy will oversee transactional business for linear cable and digital accounts. Both will be based in Toronto reporting to Bryan Gliserman, co-president of eOne Films Canada.

Meanwhile, eOne’s television division has agreed a three-year output deal with US cablenet AMC Networks.

The pact sees eOne Television handle international distribution for all original scripted series which air on AMC and the Sundance Channel. Halt and Catch Fire, Turn and The Red Road are the first to be added to the slate.

eOne is already the producer and international distributor of AMC’s ratings success Hell on Wheels, and international distributor of The Walking Dead but this is AMC and Sundance’s first exclusive international output partnership for scripted content.
