Ex-Renegade exec takes Koska role

Koska, the nascent UK prodco set up by Warner Bros alumnus Nick Emmerson, has hired a former Renegade Pictures exec to head its creative output.

Alexis Price

Alexis Price has become creative director, a similar role to the one she held at Warner Bros-owned Renegade. She joins CEO Emmerson and David Phillips, director of entertainment, at Koska.

During her seven-year tenure at Renegade, Price created and developed numerous formats and series across a range of genres, including BBC1’s Weight For Love, BBC3’s Barely Legal Drivers and The Tribe, for Channel 4.

In 2015, she was upped to creative director at the company, following the departure of Jon Rowlands to Warner Bros Television Production UK as creative director of new content.

Previously, Price held positions at Tiger Aspect, IWC and the BBC, having made the leap into the TV industry in 2007.

Price said that with Emmerson and Phillips, she aimed to build “one of the most creative, diverse and fun companies in the industry.” Emmerson added that Price’s “creative energy is infectious” and he was “chuffed” to have her at the company.

Emmerson, formerly MD of Warner Bros Television Production UK, launched Koska barely a month ago. Phillips, a former TV board director at talent agency James Grant, came onboard at the time.

The young company has minority investment from ITV Studios, which will distribute all original formats created by Koska through its ITV Studios Global Entertainment distribution arm.
