Youngest Media is being launched by ex-Endemol Shine chairman Lucas Church and Endemol Shine UK’s creative chief David Flynn, who both left the firm last summer.

The London-based prodco will create and produce shows for broadcasters while also focusing on content for digital platforms and eyeing up branded content opportunities, including apps.

Flynn said the company was targeting the three areas to give creatives “the best chance of being seen by as wide an audience as possible. By operating across television, video and products, Youngest Media will champion the best ideas and get them out there quickly.”

Lucas added: “The best multi-platform entertainment comes from knowing which ideas work best for each platform – and when to combine them. We’re committed to connecting directly with our audiences from day one and using that data to get a better understanding what works and doesn’t.

“It’s an approach increasingly used by brands and platforms and one which our industry will need to adopt, especially with the increasing financial risks being taken by creators as old funding models shift.”

Flynn, who was previously MD at Remarkable Television, was behind shows including The Million Pound Drop and BBC1 hit Pointless.

Church was behind initiatives including Endemol Beyond and became chairman at Endemol Shine UK last January before revealing his decision to leave the firm less than six months later.
