Euro trio broadcast Radio Gaga

Radio Gaga is being remade in Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands

Broadcasters in the Netherlands, Denmark and Spain have ordered their own versions of a feel-good social experiment format that follows a hyper-local radio station.

Radio Gaga is being remade for Movistar in Spain, DR in Denmark and NPO3 in the Netherlands. Producer details are not yet available.

The format, from distributor Lineup Industries, sees two hosts travel in their mobile radio studio, stopping to set up camp in various small communities.

They then spend the next 48 hours running a radio station for the locals, taking everything from song requests to confessions.

Julian Curtis, co-founder of Lineup, said: “This is just the type of go-to programming that broadcasters want in their schedules. Radio Gaga feels intimate and local but with a universal compassion and warmth.”

In addition, VRT in Belgium has recommissioned the eight-part show from producer De Chinezen for its third season on its Canvas channel.
