Euro buyers pick up ZDFE content

The Bureau of Magical Things

Finland’s YLE and European pay TV operator Viasat World are among the broadcasters to have acquired drama, children’s and documentary programming from Germany’s ZDF Enterprises.

YLE has acquired a package of almost 100 hours of drama including The Criminalist, The Prosecutor and Cologne PD, while Swiss Television SRF licensed almost 200 hours of TV movies and series such as Arne Dahl and Beck.

Elsewhere, Entertainment Networks UK secured 50 romantic TV movies based on the books of Rosamunde Pilcher, Inga Lindstroem and Emilie Richards for Cine Sony Italy.

On the factual front, Viasat World acquired The Fatal Conflict – Judea & Rome and A Day in the Life of Earth for Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and African territories. Telefonica Spain also secured the rights to the latter show for its territories.

ZDFE.junior has also sold its new live-action series The Bureau of Magical Things to Nickelodeon for its worldwide service and Find Me in Paris to Nickelodeon UK.

Finally, Ceska Televize acquired around 160 hours of animation and live-action including School of Roars.
