ESB, Castillo go in for Shock Therapy

NATPE: Endemol Shine Boomdog (ESB), the Mexican arm of Endemol Shine North America, is launching a series with Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo called Shock Therapy.

Del Castillo plays a sex therapist in the English-language show, which is based on a book series ESB has optioned. Last September, ESB signed a development deal with Del Castillo and her prodco, Cholawood Productions.

The actor-producer revealed to C21 this week early discussions are underway about a third season of Netflix and Telemundo’s Spanish-language crime telenovela La Reine Del Sur.

She also opened up about her ambitions behind the camera and how Latina actors often still get offered stereotypical roles by Hollywood.
