Epstein death investigated by Discovery

US crime cablenet Investigation Discovery has greenlit an anthology series titled Who Killed… that will begin by exploring the life and death of financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

It will feature exclusive interviews and an in-depth investigation to reveal new clues about Epstein’s seedy underworld, privileged life and controversial death, the network said.

Airing later this year, it comes after Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in August last year. While his death was attributed to suicide, forensics experts and the media have cast scepticism and doubt over the official verdict.

The show is being produced for Investigation Discovery by Jupiter Entertainment, with Patrick Reardon and Tim McConville executive producing.

Investigation Discovery has also expanded its true crime partnership with Khloé Kardashian by ordering Twisted Love, a spin-off from Kardashian-produced series Twisted Sisters, produced with 44 Blue Productions and Khlomoney Entertainment.

The new six-part series shares tales of families, friends and lovers, documenting how at any moment, a trusted love can turn into a treacherous fate, Investigation Discovery said.

“I love the idea of love, but these stories will stun even the most hopeless romantic,” said Kardashian, executive producer of the series, along with Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch of 44 Blue Productions.

Meanwhile, fellow Discovery-owned network OWN is gearing up to air anthology drama Cherish the Day, created and executive produced by Emmy winner/Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay (Queen Sugar, When They See Us).

The series is produced for OWN by Array Filmworks and Harpo Films in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television and will air on February 11 and February 12.
