Epix pogos off with punk series

Iggy Pop will narrate the new series

US cablenet Epix has greenlit a four-part documentary series about the punk movement that will feature artists such as Iggy Pop, Johnny Rotten, Debbie Harry and Marky Ramone.

Titled simply Punk, the show is in production and will premiere on March 11 next year on the MGM-owned network.

It will explore the music, fashion, art and DIY attitude of the subculture using original interviews with US and UK artists, alongside rare and unseen photos and archival film and video.

John Varvatos will executive produce alongside Iggy Pop, who will also narrate the series. It will be produced by filmmaker Derik Murray’s Network Entertainment with Jesse James Miller on board to direct.
