The service is priced at US$5.99 a month and is available via Apple TV, iOS and Android devices, with Roku and Amazon Fire versions due to be added soon.

The initial offering includes Epix original series such as Pennyworth, which tells the origin story of Batman’s butler, Alfred; Godfather of Harlem, starring Forest Whitaker; Perpetual Grace, the MGM show featuring Sir Ben Kingsley; and docuseries Punk from Iggy Pop.

Subscribers will also be able to watch returning seasons of Epix originals including Get Shorty, Berlin Station and Deep State, as well as thousands of Hollywood movies and classic film franchises.

The launch of the streaming service is the network’s latest expansion in distribution, and includes access to all four of Epix’s live linear channels.

Epix president Michael Wright said: “Launching Epix Now and providing consumers nationwide with access to our premium original programming and blockbuster movies is an exciting moment for our company and solidifies our commitment to bring high-level storytelling to as many people as possible. We look forward to welcoming new audiences to our network.”

This year is set to be one of multiple streamer launches, with Disney+ and Apple’s offering due later in 2019 along with services from WarnerMedia, DC ComicsStarz and NBC.
