eOne to make Sex Tape with Armoza

Sex Tape launched at MipTV in Cannes earlier this year

Canadian producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has picked up the US rights to Israeli firm Armoza’s Sex Tape format.

The social experiment will be coproduced by the two companies and pitched to the US market following similar deals with Tresor in Germany and 360 Powwow in Latin America, among others.

eOne executive VP of US alternative programming Tara Long is spearheading the project for her firm.

The 60- or 90-minute format, which Armoza launched at MipTV earlier this year, sees couples try to fix their relationships through a dramatic new therapy where they film their love life for a week and then watch the uncensored footage with other couples.

Armoza developed the format from an idea pitched by Dr Shelly Varod at Formagination, Armoza’s annual format competition. The latest winner of the pitch contest was announced earlier this week.
