eOne partners to get Ready for War

Transatlantic producer Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with US prodcos Cedar Park Entertainment and Prettybird on a four-part documentary about the problems faced by US military veterans, including deportation.

Ready for War investigates the issues former service personnel have to deal with, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, drug abuse and crime, as well as the fears of deportation facing immigrant soldiers.

The series looks at the disparities between native-born US soldier and their immigrant counterparts who are sent to Mexico as they attempt to return home. While some succeed in getting home, others are forced to work for Mexican drugs cartels.

The documentary comes from filmmakers Andrew Renzi and Nick Boak, with Renzi directing. Cedar Park’s David Ayer and Prettybird’s Kerstin Emhoff and Candice Dragonas will exec produce alongside multi-platinum-selling artist Drake (Aubrey Drake Graham) and his business partner Adel Nur.

Renzi and Boak will exec produce through their North of Now label, with eOne’s Tara Long also exec producing.
