eOne links up with StoryBy

Transatlantic producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has agreed a multi-year overall deal with US producer StoryBy Entertainment.

AMC’s adaptation of Dan Simmons’ The Terror

eOne will serve as the studio on StoryBy’s television projects and will control worldwide rights, gaining a first look at all of its TV output.

StoryBy Entertainment was launched by literary manager Michael Prevett in partnership with Howard Braunstein, Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken to generate film and TV projects based on premium source material.

Prevett has specialised in packaging literary material for filmmakers, screenwriters and producers, and  worked on Dan Simmons’ novel The Terror, which is being turned into a TV show for AMC by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.

He was also behind Arturo Perez Reverte’s Queen of the South, which is the basis for the USA Network series of the same name and which was adapted as La Reina del Sur for Telemundo.

Pancho Mansfield, president of global scripted programming at eOne Television, said: “With this new partnership, their relationships will enable us to access highly sought-after creative talent and IP in the earliest stages.”

Last month C21 revealed that Carrie Stein, executive VP for global production at eOne Television, is to leave the company at the end of June.
