Endemol Shine Boomdog signs film talent

Endemol Shine Boomdog (ESB), the Mexican production unit set up by Endemol Shine North America and local prodco Boomdog, has signed an overall deal with movie producer Gaston Pavlovich to develop TV drama.

Gaston Pavlovich

Pavlovich and his Mexican production company Fábrica de Cine recently worked on Martin Scorsese’s feature film The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

He will now develop and produce Spanish- and English-language scripted TV series with the Mexico City-based studio.

The first project the two sides are developing together will focus on the complete story of Antonieta Rivas Mercardo and the fascinating and turbulent times of early century Mexico.

Alejandro Rincon, CEO of Endemol Shine Boomdog, said: “Gaston is one of the leading film producers in the world today and we are thrilled that he’s bringing his cinematic vision to join us in producing dramatic television series.”

Pavlovich and Scorsese first collaborated on Silence, starring Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver. The film was released by Paramount in 2016 and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Endemol Shine Boomdog recently announced a production and development deal with Televisa and the two sides teamed up for the record-breaking Mexican launch of the hit MBC series The Masked Singer this season.

Earlier this year, Amazon Prime announced it has licensed the studio’s upcoming drama series Súbete a mi Moto, which is being produced alongside Somos Productions and Piñolywood Studios.
