Endemol picks up first format from Strix

Swedish production outfits Strix Television's gameshow formats are continuing their international careers, after format specialist Endemol walks away with rights to Harem.

The French outpost of Endemol has taken French rights to the show, the first time the Dutch-based outfit has ever taken a Strix format.

The show revolves around a male harem presided over by four young women. Over the ten episodes, the women select from the harem to compete for a round-the-world trip.

The Swedish version of the format drew audiences of some 405k for the final crowning of the Harem Queen, while some 80k interactive votes were received.

In a separate deal, the Swedish version of Harem has been sold to Nelonen (Finland), which is to air the show in Finnish langauge.

The format has previously been optioned for the US market by Jonathan Goodson Productions, as part of a format package deal.
