Egyptian Sesame Street Debuts Second Season

Alam Simsim, the Egyptian version of Sesame Street, has debuted its second season with 65 new episodes.

Co-produced by Alkarma Productions (Egypt) and Stateside children’s TV producer Sesame Workshop, in co-operation with the Ministry of Education, Alam Simsim is based on the long-running PBS children’s series Sesame Street.

Funding for the second series has been provided by a grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

As well as a cast of human characters, Alam Simsim also features three muppets, Khokha, Filfil and Nimnim, tailored especially for the Egyptian market.
