Eglau leaves A+E Networks

The chief operating officer and general manager for Nordics, Benelux and CEEMEA at A+E Networks UK is stepping down from his role.

Nicolas Eglau is leaving the UK-arm of the US channels operator to pursue new challenges, the company said in a statement this morning.

Eglau, who joined A+E in 2015 from RTL in the Netherlands, will remain as an adviser until the end of August to ensure a smooth transition.

A+E said an announcement about who will take up his responsibilities managing the operating and commercial units, including finance, legal, operations, strategy, distribution and ad sales, will follow at a later date.

Dean Possenniskie, MD of A+E Networks EMEA, said: “Nicolas has played a formative role in further driving growth of A+E Networks UK since 2015. He has been pivotal in developing and executing a successful long-term strategy for the company with the strong teams he recruited and developed.

“Under his leadership, our presence across the company’s international markets has grown significantly. I am pleased that Nicolas will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity through to the summer.”

Eglau added: “I’m extremely grateful for a fantastic time at A+E Networks UK. I’ve very much enjoyed working with Dean and the team. It’s been exciting to be part of the growth and transformation of the company and I’m very proud of the success we have achieved together. I wish A+E Networks every success for the future.”

A+E Networks UK is a joint venture between A+E Networks in the US and local satcaster Sky launched in 1995. Its portfolio of channels includes History, Lifetime, Crime & Investigation and H2.
