Econet, iflix link for Zimbabwean service

Riviera will be among the drama content available on Kwesé iflix

Malaysian SVoD service iflix and South Africa-based telecoms company Econet Media Group have launched a digital entertainment platform in Zimbabwe.

Kwesé iflix will broadcast live coverage of this summer’s FIFA World Cup football tournament plus entertainment content via its new mobile app.

As well as the World Cup, Kwesé iflix also aims to provide live coverage of other sporting competitions such as the NBA.

It will also offer thousands of hours of international, regional and local content curated for an African audience.

Kwesé iflix’s library of TV series and movies includes Ice, Saints & Sinners, Riviera, Britannia, Tin Star, Being Mary Jane, Medici: Masters of Florence and Luther. It also hosts children’s and lifestyle content.

The app gives Econet Wireless mobile customers unlimited access to on-demand content as well as its live coverage.
