Dubuc to open Banff

A+E Networks president and CEO Nancy Dubuc has been unveiled as the opening keynote speaker at the Banff World Media Festival in June.

Dubuc will discuss A+E’s role in scripted and unscripted programming and its business models at the festival, which is honouring the broadcaster as its company of distinction and runs from June 7 to 10.

She oversees channel brands including History and A&E, as well as female-focused Lifetime and LMN. Other A+E execs, talent and producers are set to feature in events throughout the festival.

The A+E boss will also appear at Banff’s inaugural Women’s Power Lunch with co-host Barbara Williams, exec VP of broadcasting and president of Canada’s Shaw Media and chair of the Banff Foundation board of directors.

A+E was founded in 1984 with two cable channels and now claims to reach more than 330 million viewers in 200-plus territories, with shows including Bates Motel, Storage Wars and Duck Dynasty on its slate.
