Euro, Africa nets pick Diana doc

Broadcasters in Germany, Italy and Sweden are among those to have picked up a major documentary celebrating the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Diana, Our Mother: Her Life & Legacy is produced by Oxford Films and features the first in-depth TV interviews with The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry about their late mother.

NDR in Germany, TV4 Sweden, Mediaset in Italy and RTL in French-speaking Belgium have all acquired the doc, along with BBC Worldwide for its BBC Lifestyle channel in both Poland and Africa.

Drive, the production-funding and distribution agency led by Lilla Hurst and Ben Barrett, picked up the doc for distribution earlier this year, as revealed by C21.

Other broadcasters to have picked up the show, which was produced for ITV in the UK and HBO in the US, include Seven Network in Australia, CBC in Canada, NRK in Norway and HBO Documentary Films in the US.

Advanced negotiations are also taking place with broadcasters in multiple territories including Japan, Italy, Russia, Ireland, Israel and India, and Drive expects deals to be closed imminently.
