DRG secures HBO drama duo

UK distributor DRG has taken worldwide distribution rights to HBO Europe remakes of drama series Mammon and Small Time Gangster.

DRG will be the distributor for HBO’s local versions of Mammon in Poland and the Czech Republic, and Small Time Gangster in Romania, under the title Umbre. Both programmes are scripted formats licensed to HBO Europe by DRG.

DRG has also agreed a deal for all of the HBO Europe broadcasters to acquire the finished programmes in the region.

In a separate deal, HBO Europe has optioned two additional scripted formats from DRG: Moskito’s Easy Living in Hungary and NRK’s Eyewitness in Romania, both of which are in development.

Mammon, produced by NRK, follows the story of a journalist who is drawn into a world of lies after he uncovers financial fraud involving some of Norway’s most influential figures. Australian series Small Time Gangster, originally produced by Boilermaker Burberry-Entertainment, is the story of a man’s secret double life.

DRG will launch two new formats, Anno and When The Orchestra Came To Town, at MipTV next month.
