DreamWorks exec tapped for Wow

US animation outfit Wow Unlimited Media has named a former DreamWorks Animation Television executive as its head of studio partnerships.

Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor becomes consulting executive producer and head of studio partnerships at Wow, which was formerly known as Rainmaker Entertainment and was founded by Michael Hirsh and Fred Seibert.

Taylor was previously the founding executive VP of DreamWorks Animation Television, where he worked on the expansion of the studio’s TV series productions.

His new remit will include expanding the work of the company’s animation studios, Rainmaker/Mainframe based in Vancouver, and Frederator Studios in LA.

Taylor will also include identifying and implementing new animation development technologies and attracting talent and projects. He will be based at Frederator’s Burbank studio.

Fred Seibert, CEO at Frederator and chief creative officer at Wow, said Taylor’s “collaborative relationships in the animation industry are ideal for a company like ours that always puts talent first.”

Prior to DreamWorks Animation, Taylor was the first general manager and senior VP of Nickelodeon Animation Studios, where he led production oversight on Nicktoon series including SpongeBob SquarePants.

Michael Hefferon, exec VP of Wow, who also heads Rainmaker/Mainframe Studios, added that Taylor’s “talents align seamlessly with our mission and vision for our company as we look to reshape the future of the animation content landscape.”

Wow’s slate includes Castlevania and Barbie Dreamhouse Adventure for Netflix, as well as forthcoming show Costume Quest for Amazon.
