Dorsey exec joins Citizen Pictures

Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives producer Citizen Pictures has appointed the director of development at Dorsey Pictures as its VP of development.

Katie Alvord

Veteran development executive Katie Alvord has joined the Denver-based firm in the role and will report to CEO and president Frank Matson.

Alvord will be based at the company’s Denver headquarters and will work alongside VP of development and production Tim McOsker.

Alvord is tasked with finding home-grown characters and talent in Colorado and the western US to generate new character-driven docuseries and create original formats for US broadcast and cable networks, as well as streaming platforms.

During her time at Dorsey Pictures, Alvord worked on series such as Maine Cabin Masters (HGTV), Accident Suicide or Murder (Oxygen), Alaska’s Ultimate Bush Pilots (Outdoor Channel) and Bus Life Ever (DIY).

With more than a decade of experience, Alvord began her career at NBC and eventually moved on to High Noon Entertainment, working on series such as Taco Trip and Grubsessed.

“She’s a natural addition for us as we continue to prioritise talent-led programming across food, lifestyle, travel and action-adventure,” said Matson.

The 400th episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives will air next month on Food Network, which is currently airing the second season of the format’s spin-off, Triple D Nation, also produced by Citizen Pictures.
